Yabatech Rector Conferred With International Fellowship

An international institute, Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana has conferred Rector, Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, Engr. Obafemi Omokungbe with its fellowship for his impressive and enviable track records as an accomplished public service personality and worthy statesman.

Speaking at the induction ceremony at the weekend, the Executive Director of the institute, Mr. Richard Kpoku said the institute having carried out over two years intensive research on his profile with regards to public service and national development, the institute is indeed very proud of his unassailable statesmanship pedigree, vast managerial acumen and shrewd administrative capabilities as Rector of Yabatech since 2018.

With these qualities, he added that the Rector has also further projected the institution into global excellence.

“We will not fail to recognize and commend the trailblazing students of the college who have always demonstrated resounding qualities and proven themselves as embodiment of academic excellence.

“After carefully going through your pedigree of service to Nigeria, we salute your leadership tenacity as a greatly revered Pan-Africanist and Global resource personality,” the Institute said.

The Executive Director also said that the rector’s name has never been found wanting in any financial malpractices, abuse of office, indictment or misconduct of any kind.

“Your incorruptible track records of accomplishment are monumental and unprecedented in Nigeria’s Public Service History,” the Executive Director said.

Kpoku explained that the fellowship honour is bestowed on citizens of all nations especially those who have proven themselves as embodiment of integrity.

Urging Engr. Omokungbe to see the recognition as a motivation to re-dedicate himself, Kpoku said he should  continue with the good service to the nation and humanity in general  for which he has always been known.

“It is our firm believe that as a fellow of this institute, you will impact positively your wealth of uncommon leadership successes, challenges and also cross fertilize development ideas and policies with other notable corporate technocrats, public servants, professionals and veteran states person’s to move the African continent forward.

In his remarks, the rector thanked the institute for the award saying he was delighted to be nominated for the fellowship.

“I am happy that the little things we are doing here are being recognized outside the country.

He however said the achievement in the college was not his alone but for the support of the staff of the institution.

He assured the institute of his honesty, accountability and incorruptible records even after he might have left office as the rector.

He used the opportunity to solicit for more support from staff of the institution in order to achieve more for the college.

Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana was established in 1995 and chartered in 2005 with 15 member nations.
