The police in Lagos have succeeded in smashing a dreaded armed robbery gang, which had allegedly been terrorising residents of Ogba, Lagos for a long time.
The gang, which was christened Wazobia by residents because of the diversity of it’s membership which cuts across the country’s three major ethnic groups, was busted by men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) under the command of ACP Tunji Disu.
Our source learnt that three of the gang members were initially arrested before the remaining four members were tracked down through further investigation.
The arrest was confirmed by the RRS via a post on it’s Twitter handle, @rrslagos767, which read: “RRS operatives have arrested the “wazobia” gang that specialize in robbing passers-by at College road, Ogba. The diversity in their ethnicity & language was never a barrier to them. 3 of the members were arrested at first before leading us to the rest of them.
