Owan Aspirant Hon. Isah, Unveils Welfare Agenda, Targets Elderly Care and Youth Empowerment

Hon. Abdulkudus Isah, a politician and a businessman, has declared his intention to seek elective office in the Owan Federal Constituency, unveiling a people-focused agenda centered on elderly welfare, youth empowerment and grassroots development.

Speaking as he marked his 35th birthday, the Political Science graduate said his decision to venture into formal politics was driven by a desire to expand the humanitarian and empowerment initiatives he has carried out privately over the years.

At the heart of his manifesto is a promise to introduce monthly stipends and free healthcare support for elderly citizens aged 80 years and above across the constituency. According to him, the initiative is designed to provide dignity and relief for senior citizens who have contributed to society but now face economic hardship.

Drawing from his experience in the oil and gas as well as construction sectors, Isah highlighted his track record in youth empowerment, noting that several young people have become financially independent through opportunities created within his businesses.
He maintained that public office would provide him with a broader platform to replicate such success stories on a larger scale.

“I will not teach people what I do not know,” he stated, emphasizing his belief in practical empowerment and economic opportunities rather than political rhetoric.

Positioning himself as a youthful alternative to the current political structure, Isah criticized the performance of the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency, Professor Julius Ihonvbere, alleging that the constituency has not experienced sufficient grassroots impact despite years of representation.

He argued that younger leadership is necessary to better understand and address the present-day realities confronting the people, especially the youth.

The aspirant also expressed concern over increasing voter apathy in the constituency, attributing it to public disappointment with political leadership.

He, however, said he hopes his candidacy would rekindle public confidence and encourage greater participation in the democratic process.
Reaffirming his commitment to integrity and accountability, Isah said he believes in making only realistic promises, particularly regarding the welfare of senior citizens and economic opportunities for young people.

Despite his confidence in securing victory, he stressed that his ambition is rooted in community development rather than personal gain. He pledged to support whoever emerges victorious in the election if he is unsuccessful, insisting that the progress of Owan must remain the ultimate priority.

Isah further called on young people across the constituency to actively participate in shaping the future of the region, describing his movement as one built on service, inclusion and shared prosperity.
