Many hospitalized as YPP, PDP members clash over defection money
A mild drama ensued at the weekend in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, over the monies allocated for the renting of crowd for the purported mass defection rally of Waziri Yakubu Gobir to Young Progressives Party, YPP, on Saturday.
The Gobir political associates may have changed tactics after a group foiled their attempt to use a press statement to convey false information about a purported defection exercise, with the mischievous claim of 20,000 members defecting from APC to YPP.
Trouble started when the PDP crowd merchants disagreed with the minority YPP members on the sharing formular for the defection funds, claiming they had provided majority of the crowd for the ”member-less party,” but this utterance by the PDP merchant breached a gentleman agreement to provide rented crowd for their YPP members.
This led to the fight which has resulted in bloody fracas due to harmful weapons.
As at the time of filing this report, several YPP and PDP faithfuls have been wounded in the imbroglio and receiving treatment at various hospitals within the state capital.
