The Counsel to the Lai Mohammed’s Group of the Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) suffered another set back last Wednesday at Kwara State High Court in Ilorin in its quest to quash the legitimacy of the Abdullahi Samari led State Caretaker committee and stop the now extended registration and revalidation exercise of Membership of the APC in Kwara State.

It will be recalled that Bolarinwa’s faction otherwise known as Lai Mohammed group had approached Justice S.M Akanbi of the Kwara State High Court in Ilorin seeking among other things to stop the ongoing registration of APC Members in Kwara State. However, when the case came up for hearing on Wednesday the Lead Counsel of the group, Barr. Oseni pleaded for an adjournment following their inability to put together a befitting argument before the judge despite the fact that the registration he is seeking to stop was to end the same day, March 31, 2021 as earlier announced by the party’s National Caretaker Committee.

The court therefore acceded to his request for an adjustment and the courts sitting was adjourned till May 6, 2021 before another hearing of the suit will hold.

Meanwhile, feelers indicate that the prosecution counsel may have given up on the case and the adjournment may be an exercise in futility, as the next hearing date for the suit is 14 days after the end of the current 3 weeks extension currently approved for revalidation and registration of membership by the APC, which the suit intends to stop.
