Gusau – The change slogan has become popular in Zamfara State as no fewer than 400 supporters of the All Progressive Alliance (APC) dumped the party and embraced the Peoples Democratic (PDP), saying that the APC could not bail the state from its numerous problems especially in the areas of security and penury that have been the lot of the state.
Over 400 supporters of the APC stormed the Gusau residence of Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the governorship candidate of PDP asking him to welcome them into the PDP fold.
Speaking on the occasion, the leader of the group, Alhaji Surajo Danbaba, described the candidate as a political Messiah, who has the capability to rescue the state from decay and domination, kidnappings and other heinous crimes.
According to him, “Matawalle is a political wizard who has what it takes to reorganize the derailed political journey as the state remains sick,” adding that the APC government had failed and could not salvage the situation in the state.
Danbaba explained that APC was not helping issues, saying over 80 percent of the people in government were not working in the interest of the state, adding that they were political jobbers who were in the corridors of power for self-aggrandizement.
He stated that the economic and political progress of the state had been in shambles without the leaders caring about the plight of the masses that brought them to power through their votes.
In his response, Matawalle said that he was filled with happiness that the people were waking up from their slumber because they had swallowed the bitter pills of the APC l government, assuring them that he would operate an open door policy and take advice from anybody irrespective of his other political affiliation.
