DAVID EBHOMIEN PDP Chieftain Set Ablaze In Edo.

A People Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Mr. David Ebhomien, was on burnt alive by thugs, in Edo state
A member of the All Progressive Party (APC), Stanley Olobi  led the thugs to the venue.
Mr. Ebhomien with other party members were said to have returned from Ekpoma where they went to collect some materials for the Saturday’s election in Ujiogba.
He headed straight to the house of the Ward Chairman, Mr. Olobi Orunebho, where other PDP party members converged for meetings ahead of the elections.
Report has it that voices were raised between party members that were seated.

One, Mr. Stanley Olobi stormed the meeting venue, forcefully asked all the meeting stakeholders to go away from the premises, held Mr. Ebhomien the host.
Source stated that Mr. Ebhomien was set ablaze with petroleum by thugs, with all the doors in the house closed.
The source stated that the thugs left after setting the building on ablaze as Mr. Ebhomien was later rescued by samaritans with severe burnt.
He was conveyed to nearby hospital in Ebele but due to the degree of burns, Mr. Ebhomien was later referred to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital for prompt medical attention where he later died on the 9th of March 2019.
The corpse has been moved to the Irrua Teaching Hospital Mortuary, Irrua, Edo state.

Our correspondent gathered that, the son of the deceased, Francis Ebhomien  was allegedly  conspired with some  political thugs to disrupt September 2016 gubernatorial election at unit 002, Ward 2 in  Esan West Local Government Area, Edo State.
Attacking electorate and snatching of ballot boxes. A situation which prompted the Nigeria Police, declaring his person Wanted.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Transition Monitoring Team, expressed concern over the killing of Mr. Ebhomien, saying it will be investigated.
In a statement by the  Police  confirmed the incident through its Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba,  said there was a misunderstanding between one Stanley Olobi, a member of the APC; and one Ebhomien Francis who happened to be the son of the decease and member of the PDP,  both of Ujiogba ward 2.
In a statement by the decease family, “We call on the Inspector General of Police to conduct an immediate investigation into the death of Mr. Ebhomien, while all steps should be taken to bring to book the perpetrators of this dastardly act.
