Count us out of mischievous Eid prayer message, says Kwara NUT
The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT)Kwara State Wing is dismayed at seeing a trending WhatsApp message purporting to invite Kwara teachers to a prayer at the Ilorin Eid praying ground.
The UNKNOWN persons behind the said message claimed they were organizing the prayer for the welfare of teachers in Kwara State.
The Union hereby totally dissociates itself and members, from such a mischievous conduct.
While not misconstruing the fact that teachers will continue to aspire to have better welfare and improved conditions of service; as a matter of right, it will however be unfair, not to admit that we are better of today than we were yesterday as we no longer get half-salary or zero salary since June 2019 to date.
This is without prejudice to our continuous appeal as a matter of right for better welfare, and we are confident that the administration of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq will work on this, especially the salary and promotion arrears inherited from the last administration, amongst others.
Finally, we urge members of the public and teachers in Kwara State to disregard the mischievous WhatsApp Message and go about their normal/ legitimate duties as law abiding citizens of “the State of Harmony”.
