Businessman-Turned-Politician Abdulkudus Isah Vows People-Centred Leadership for Owan
Successful entrepreneur and House of Representatives aspirant, Hon. Abdulkudus Isah, has formally outlined the motivations behind his transition from business into politics, declaring that his ambition is driven by a desire to expand his long-standing commitment to community development across the Owan Federal Constituency.
Known for his ventures in granite supply, sharp sand, and the oil and gas sector, Isah said his decision to enter politics represents a natural progression from private philanthropy to public service. According to him, years of mentoring young entrepreneurs and supporting vulnerable members of society convinced him that greater impact can only be achieved through active participation in government.
Speaking on his political philosophy, Isah maintained that integrity, accountability, and tangible results—values he said built his business reputation—would remain central to his leadership approach. He emphasized that politics should not be viewed as a means of personal enrichment, but rather as an avenue for equitable distribution of opportunities and resources to ordinary citizens, particularly the elderly and unemployed youths.
“I am a man of my word,” he stated, stressing that his record as a provider and supporter within the community predates his political aspirations. He added that his mission is to create sustainable empowerment structures capable of improving lives across Owan East and Owan West.
The aspirant also highlighted his grassroots investments as evidence of his commitment to the constituency. Among these is the establishment of a new NDC Secretariat in Owan West, which he disclosed is being personally financed ahead of its official opening. Beyond party activities, Isah noted that he has consistently offered support to widows, elderly residents, and aspiring young entrepreneurs within his ward.
Drawing from his academic background in Political Science, Isah argued that his blend of educational knowledge and practical business experience positions him to effectively represent the interests of the constituency at the federal level. He promised to prioritize the attraction of meaningful federal projects to all parts of Owan, insisting that balanced development has been lacking under the current leadership.
As political activities gradually build toward the 2027 general elections, Isah is urging constituents to focus less on party affiliations and more on competence, accessibility, and proven capacity to deliver results. He described his vision as one rooted in inclusive growth, where both the elderly in need of healthcare support and young people seeking economic opportunities can benefit from responsive representation.
For the businessman-turned-politician, the journey into public office is more than a political ambition—it is, according to him, an opportunity to demonstrate that practical, business-oriented leadership can provide lasting solutions to the social and economic challenges facing the Owan people.
