LETTER OF APPRECIATION
We, the indigenes, sons, and daughters of the historic Badagry Division, write to express our profound and heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the GAC for finding Badagry worthy of producing Princess Damilola Sonayon-James as the next Deputy Governor of Lagos State.
This monumental development is both historic and deeply remarkable. Badagry occupies a sacred place in the history of Nigeria as one of the nation’s oldest settlements, a pioneer gateway to civilization, education, commerce, and a custodian of rich cultural heritage. Despite our immense, unwavering contributions to the socio-economic and political growth of Lagos State and Nigeria at large, the opportunity to occupy the exalted office of the Deputy Governor had eluded our division for many decades.
Today, we are overjoyed that the leadership of the APC has demonstrated true fairness, inclusivity, and impeccable political foresight. By recognizing Badagry for this apex position, the party has given our people a profound sense of belonging and equity in the governance of Lagos State.
We owe a special debt of gratitude to our National Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose legendary commitment to equity, justice, and the holistic development of Lagos State remains unmatched. We also extend our deepest appreciation to the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), party elders, faithful stakeholders, and everyone who contributed to this decision. This historic choice has inspired immense confidence across the length and breadth of Badagry.
This gesture has renewed hope among our people and reinforced our belief in the APC as a party that genuinely rewards loyalty, commitment, and dedicated service. We use this medium to assure the party leadership of our unalloyed loyalty, continued support, and total dedication to the progressive ideals and programs of the APC.
