In their love for chasing shadows, opposition elements in Kwara are still struggling to undermine the popularity of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in Kwara.
This futile exercise became strong after the widely acknowledged show of love thousands of residents gave Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq at Eid and the emir palace the second day of Sallah. Buoyed by his humble, selfless, and responsive style of leadership, Kwarans chose the auspicious occasion of Eid-l-Fitri to cheer one of the best Governors in Nigeria.
This must have made Kwara PDP very afraid. Well, it is expected. However, they need to know that no one had to tell the people to show love to who they like. The strides of this administration are telling. Kwara PDP and her followers may not be happy with it but Kwarans are not bitter against the Governor or the Government as they’d certainly want.
It is very misguided and impolitic how they continued to put down the reality of wide acceptance the Governor enjoys at all cost. They started with editing the videos. Seeing that it failed to hoodwink the public, they resorted to peddling a counter show just to shove the narrative of public indifference to the government down the throat of the populace. Who is fooling who?
Campaigns have not started but Kwara people will always appreciate the one who works round the clock trying to make them happy. Look at the recent fair and transparent teachers’ recruitment exercise for example. Who would not be happy with a government making the state works for the common man? I am sure if it went another way round and he was booed, they would be here jubiliating over the misfortune. As I said, I feel sorry they have to witness the man getting so very honoured and celebrated against their wishes.
PDP’s misguided tactics post-Otoge tsunami have been to concoct and stage-managed events or happenings to make people regret or angry at themselves for sending them packing in the 2019 elections. Needless to say, this is a wrong approach to getting into people’s minds. You don’t guilt-trip people or force them into admitting (nonexistent) mistakes. The fanfare in the city during Eid should be enough awakening.
It is not easy to see one’s lies falling flatly on one’s face. I know it pains dearly. Sorry, Kwara PDP.
