Saraki holds closed door meeting with Kwara North Emirs on next Emir of Lafiagi

The former President of Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki today paid a commiserating visit to Lafiagi over the death of the Emir, the Late Alhaji Sa’adu Kawu Haliru, who died on July 9th at the age of 86.

Saraki, according to our reliable source, held a closed door meeting with Emirs from Kwara North on the need to influence Lafiagi Emirate kingmakers on the choice of the former Governor, Mohammed Shaaba Lafiagi as the new Emir.

This development is coming after a failed attempt to install a candidate as Olupo of Ajase-ipo, through traditional rulers loyal to him.

Saraki, it was gathered informed the Emirs that it was pay back time to reward him with their loyalty by installing Shaaba as Emir in Lafiagi.

He promised to offer the financial commitment for the exercise but warned against leakage of information as he wouldn’t want the incumbent governor to suspect his involvement in the scheming.
