...Pioneering Remote Equipment Support Across West Africa

Mantrac Nigeria, the exclusive authorized dealer of Caterpillar equipment in Nigeria, has officially launched its cutting-edge Digital Service Centre in Ikeja, Lagos — a bold step forward in redefining after-sales support and operational efficiency across the region.

This landmark facility marks a significant milestone in Mantrac’s digital transformation journey, offering customers across Nigeria and West Africa a new standard in remote diagnostics, technical assistance, and equipment uptime. Strategically located in Lagos’s industrial hub, the centre functions as a remote command post, delivering expert support to over 200 active customer sites spanning mining, construction, oil & gas, and agriculture.

Equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, high-speed connectivity, and a team of certified engineers, the Digital Service Centre leverages Caterpillar’s telematics platforms — Cat Product Link and VisionLink — to monitor equipment health, conduct virtual inspections, and proactively address faults before they escalate. This innovation significantly reduces downtime and operational risk, especially for clients operating in remote or hazardous environments.

“This facility reflects our long-term vision to redefine after-sales service in the market,” said Emad Adeeb, Managing Director of Mantrac Nigeria. “By combining Caterpillar’s world-class technology with local expertise, we’re ensuring customers get immediate, intelligent support — no matter where they are.”

“The launch of this centre is a major milestone not just for Nigeria but for our entire Group,” added Nigel Lewis, COO of Mantrac Group. “It’s a testament to how digital solutions are improving customer outcomes and shaping a more sustainable service model for the future.”

Stephane Latini, Director Distribution, Eastern Africa at Caterpillar Inc., emphasized: “Digital service solutions are transforming how we support our customers globally. This new centre ensures Nigerian and West African businesses can maximize equipment performance and uptime with the latest Caterpillar innovations.”

Beyond remote troubleshooting, the centre supports software updates, calibrations, and condition-based maintenance planning — all designed to extend asset lifespans and reduce total cost of ownership. Its scalable infrastructure positions Mantrac to expand these services across West Africa, reinforcing its role as a regional leader in equipment support.

This initiative is part of Mantrac Nigeria’s broader digital roadmap, which includes predictive maintenance programs, machine connectivity solutions, and enhanced training for field teams. By minimizing the need for on-site interventions, the centre also contributes to a more sustainable and responsive service ecosystem.

During our visit to some Department we gained insight into their operational dynamics. According to the team, they adopt a flexible approach to serving clients. “We typically operate from our office, but we’re not hesitant to make on-site visits when necessary,” they explained. This approach enables them to cater to diverse client needs while ensuring efficient service delivery.

During a guided tour of the training centre, our team visited the training department, which provides comprehensive programs for both staff and customers. We met with member of staffs who were enhancing their skills through ongoing training of two years. The highlight of our visit was witnessing the practical aspects of the training in action, where we saw firsthand the cutting-edge equipment used to simulate real-world scenarios. This hands-on approach underscores the centre’s commitment to delivering effective and engaging training experiences.
