Lagos State APC UK Chairman Applauds President Tinubu’s Insurance Reform, Dismisses Political Alliance Talks

The Chairman of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) in the United Kingdom, Mr. Tayo Sodeinde, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the long-awaited Insurance Industry Bill into law.
Speaking on the development, Mr. Sodeinde described the move as a landmark achievement that will reshape Nigeria’s financial landscape. “This new act introduces a comprehensive framework for the regulation and supervision of all insurance and reinsurance businesses operating within Nigeria,” he said. “It’s a bold step toward transparency, investor confidence, and economic stability.”
Beyond the bill, Mr. Sodeinde also weighed in on recent murmurs of political alliances forming in opposition to the current administration. He dismissed such efforts as premature and misaligned with the current political climate. “With the way President Tinubu is governing—focused, strategic, and reform-driven—any talk of alliance is simply not going to work,” he stated. “Those behind it should wait for their time. Nigeria is moving forward, and the people are watching.”
Mr. Sodeinde’s remarks reflect growing support among diaspora party leaders for Tinubu’s reform agenda, particularly in sectors long overdue for modernization.
