INSIDE KWARA: More Troubles For Lai Mohammed, As Former Senator Accuses Him OF Impropriety Of Yet, Another Campaign Fund

MORE TROUBLES FOR LAI MOHAMMED, AS FORMER SENATOR ACCUSES HIM OF IMPROPRIETY OF YET, ANOTHER CAMPAIGN FUNDAs the dust raised over the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed’s alleged claims and counter claims of his underhand dealings in 2019 elections campaign fund in Kwara State is yet to settle, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state and a former Senator, Asiwaju Makanjuola Suleiman Ajadi, has described the embattled Minister as ” a legendary leopard who can never change its colour”, and therefore, could not be trusted with fund. Narrating his experience as the Kwara State Action Congress (AC) governorship candidate in 2007 General Elections, Senator Ajadi in an interview with some media men on his return journey from outside the state to Ilorin, the Kwara state Capital on Thursday, alleged that Lai Mohammed, who was the Chairman Fund Raising Committee of the party, failed to account for the money he collected across the federation on behalf of the party.”I was aware the then Vice President and d presidential candidate of the party,Alhaji Atiku Abunakar gave him provided about 100 million naira for d gubernatorial elections. Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu d leader of d Party (AC) with other Igbomina business moguls in Lagos also contributed over 100 million naira for d election.another “Thus Alh Lai Mohammed raked in raked in something above 200 million naira altogether for that Election.It may interest u that Alh Lai Mohammed who didn’t campaign with us even for a day” sent an envelope to me as d gubernatorial candidate,a day to d elections containing One (1) million naira.All money so collected disappeared into his private pocket never accounted for to this day.”Prince Fagbemi was the state chairman of the party,and Hon Layi Ayinde Deputy Sate Chairman.Hon Bolaji Edun was state secretary. Alhaji Attanda Zoro was our Kwara Central Chairman,Comrade Bisi Fakayode, Chairman south. Mohammed Duba was Chairman North.All aforementioned state and Zonal leaders/officers of d party except Moh Duba – North chairman are alive and can testify to d terrible experience we had with Alh Lai Mohammed. Ajadi further stated that it is Lai Mohammed’s normal trait to misbehave when put in charge of fund in party affairs and promise of more exposures of under d table financial deal of the Minister in due course.Responding to one of the questions on disciplinary measure that could be netted on Lai Mohammed on his ” current outburst and assault on the party and Governor of the state, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Senator Ajadi oponed that he should be expelled from the party. He therefore called on the leadership of the party at the state and national level to initiate the due process of exiting this unfit personality from our great party. Nobody is bigger than the party that made him what he is today.Finally, Senator Ajadi called on the Executive Governor of the State, Malam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to refuse to be distracted, but remains more focused on his developmental strides for the betterment of the people of kwara state.
