Former Chairman, Bolarinwa validly removed, says Kwara APC.
The APC in Kwara State overwhelmingly supports the leadership of Abdulahi Sanmari as the Chairman of the Kwara APC Caretaker Committee and reiterates our total lack of confidence in Hon Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, whose suspension was validly done by the appropriate organs of the Party at both Zonal and National levels in complete compliance with relevant provisions of the Party’s Constitution based on the petition bothering on the allegations of anti-Party activities of various dimensions.
The party in a statement issued, described the press conference by the negligible minority who are yet to accept the current reality on the suspension status of BOB as a distorted and fake account of the recent happenings in kwara State APC.
” He was suspended following an investigation into our petition against him on sundry anti-Party activities such as undermining the integrity of the APC led administration in the State and bringing the entire Party into disrepute by using its official Radio Programmes to criticise the State government,members of both State and National Assemblies which are in clear breach of our Party’s Constitution”. The decision of the State Exco to raise the petition upon which his suspension was predicated was taken in good faith to rescue the entire Party from the brink of public disrepute .”As responsible State Exco of the Party,we had to do the needful within the limits of our constitution. The public will recall how Bolarinwa severally appeared on Radio and sponsored his cronies who virtually took over the job of the opposition by constantly undermining the government and attacking the person and personality of the Executive Governor of the State. This led to our petition, alleging him
of misconducts,gross indiscpline and deliberate factionalization of the Party in clear breach and contravention
of the APC Constitution (2014)as amended, in Article 21 (i-viii) which says among others that, ‘anti-party activities or any conduct, which is likely to embarrass or have adverse effects on theParty or bring the party into hatred, contempt, ridicule or disrepute”.
” This petition was delivered to both Zonal and National leadership of our Party which took its action via letter dated January 4,2021 written to Abdullahi Samanri Abubakar by the National Secretary, Senator James Akpanudoedehe.
” The letter states, : ‘ Please kindly be notified that following the allegations of anti-party leveled against the erstwhile Chairman of our party in kwara State and his purported suspension by the erstwhile executives, the National Chairman of the Caretaker/ Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) has directed that I convey to you, the approval of the CECPC of your appointment as the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of our party in kwara State, pending the outcome of investigations into the matter.
” This latest development takes precedence over the inauguration of Bolarinwa as caretaker chairman for the second time on 11th December,2020.
” It is a conventional wisdom that the Suspended Chairman avails himself the opportunity of all Party’s internal windows of appeal rather than embarking on the planned perfidious journey of discrediting the party organs for his removal.
” We therefore admonish leaders,elders, stakeholders and the teaming members(old and intending entrants) to remain calm and come out en mass for the forthcoming membership registration and revalidation exercise. We also appeal to them to continue to support the government and leadership of our performing, gentle man Governor,Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
